When questioned as to how he became involved in the health aspects
alcohol consumption, his comment was 'As you know I am a physician
- hence the health angle. I became enamoured of wine, in part
because I like it and it likes food, in part because of its infinitude.
I 'd guess that, since I highly value accuracy, and despise pretension,
I very much welcomed the opportunity to wed the two fields about
which I really know something - wine and health'. He has, over
the years become a specialist in the alcohol and health field
and lectures internationally on the interrelation between the
two. He wrote ' in Vino Sanitas? on behalf of the Society of Wine
Educators in 1998,is contributing Editor to the Wine Educator
and Wine News plus co-wrote the Wine of New England in 1990.
